              Teaching Practice - Week 7  (14 January 2019)
                       Weekend Reflection 

                                                After our phase II teaching practice from 07.11.2018 to 11.01.2019, we were back to college. Reached the college on time. All teachers were present though there was a decrease in the number of students. Morning prayer was conducted. Aswathy from mathematics option lead the prayer. After the prayer, our principal Sri. Roy sir addressed us. Sir asked us about our general impression about our teaching experience, about the completion of our records and other works etc. Also he informed us about the last date of submission of our works to be certified. Also the date of commission was also announced to be on January 31 and February 1. We all dispersed to our respective option classes after the meeting.
                                                   In our Mathematics option class, 10 students were present along with our Jisha teacher. First of all, Jisha teacher started telling about the works to be submitted in detail. The lesson template and topic s for commission were decided together. Idea for innovative lesson template and innovative work taken at schools were also recollected once. It was told that all works should be submitted on Friday. 
                                                     In the afternoon, option wise reflection was conducted. From St. Mary's HSS, Kizhakkekara, myself shared our reflection. I told about our reflection from the beginning, how we were cared by the teacher there; how we took the classes, conscientization programme and all. Towards the end, I told about the achievement test which was conducted towards the end of phase II teaching practice.Conscientization program was conducted on 7 January in the presence of Nimmy teacher. Refreshment was given to students as well as teachers. Had a pleasant experience in the school.



                                                      Reshma S. Pabjhu reflected on their experience at Mar Thoma Girls HSS, Kottarakara. They too had a great experience though they struggled in the beginning. Teachers' support was commendable.Conscientization program was conducted on 10 January in the presence of Riju sir.
                                                       From SKVVHSS, Thrikkannamangal, Geena shared their experience. They had too much of extra work there, with almost no free time. Conscientization program was conducted on 10 January in the presence of Jisha teacher. To their surprise, they were given a good treat before they left the school.
                                                       Liji G. George from Govt. HSS, Pooyappally reflected on their experience at school. no much stress was experienced at school by them. achievement test was completed. Marks were given and reinforcement for top scorers too. Conscientization program was conducted on 10 January in the presence of Jisha teacher.
                                                       All of us had a good time in respective schools.

Teaching Practice - Phase 2 - Week 7




          Teaching Practice - Week 7  (07 - 11 January, 2019)

                                  This was the most awaited an crucial week of the Phase II teaching practice; and we were heading towards the last days in our training session in St Mary's HSS...
                                               On Monday, had class in std IX A during fourth period where I revised the concept of prism and started the concept of Volume of Prism;also did some examples. After noon we had our Conscientization programme on the topic Influence of alcohol and drug abuse on secondary school children.  It was inaugurated by Sri. Shajumon sir, in the presence of Smt. Nimmi teacher. Students from standards IX H and IX I were the audience.The programme was successful.
                                                'Talk to yourself once in a day, otherwise you may miss meeting an excellent person in this world' - this was the thought for Thursday. During third period, completed the section Volume in the chapter Solids. Juniors from our college came for getting permission to do school induction programme in our school and they got the same. Happy for them.
                                                 Friday was the last day of our teaching practice. Had morning assembly in the school ground. Our school Headmaster Sri. K.G. Alex sir wished us for a bright future. Had fifth period in Std IX A. Students wrote feedback on my teaching, and sweets were distributed at the end of the period. Moral science examination was conducted during the last two periods.Met my mentor Smt. Jothi John teacher and thanked her for all the help that she has rendered during my tenure there. Staffs were given a small refreshment in the evening. Had a meeting with the Headmaster before leaving. Great experience altogether.

Topic : Influence of Alcohol and Drug Abuse among Secondary School Students

                                       
                                                       A conscientization programme was scheduled to be on 07 January 2019 on the topic " Influence of Alcohol and Drug Abuse among Secondary School Students " in the school auditorium at 01:15 pm. Students of classes IX H and IX I were arranged as audience. Our Headmaster had some inconvenience; So Sri. Shajumon Sir inaugurated the session. 
                                                       ICT enabled session was planned and students were present to assist us. The programme started a bit late. Myself compared the function. After the prayer song and welcome speech by Haritha teacher, Sri Shajumon Sir gave the inaugural address. It was a good start to the topic. Sir spoke through stories and generated interest in the students. Presence of Nimmi teacher was also there.
                                                       After the theme presentation, the class started.

 The classes were quite interesting and interactive as well. A mime was performed by the students of standard 8B creating awareness  against drug abuse. Poster making competition on our topic was conducted and Devika and Finny were declared the winners.








                                                        Oath was taken by the students against alcohol and drug abuse. The program came to the end by the prize distribution to the winners of Poster making competition and to the mime students; A group photo was also taken with the participants, audience, Nimmi teacher and the trainees. The programme was successful.

Teaching Practice - Phase 2 - Week 6



     Teaching Practice - Week 6  (31 December- 05 January, 2019)

                                      School reopened after Christmas vacation on Monday. Reached the school on time. Went to the office, met the Headmaster and signed the register. Had class in Std IX A during fourth period. Jothi teacher distributed the answer scripts to the students and solved the difficult questions for them.
                                                       1 January 2019 fell on Tuesday. Strength was less this day. Had sixth period in Std IX A; was dealing with the chapter Real Numbers . So had a revision on till what is taught. Concepts were elicited from the students.
                                                          2,3 January were holidays due to Mannam Jayathi and declared Strike.
                                                           On Friday, completed my 29th lesson template which was the application of Absolute value of a number. Last days revision on the chapter proved very useful for todays class.Went for noon meal programme. Started the preparation for the Conscientization programme, to be held on Monday at 1:15 pm in the school auditorium.
                                                            Saturday was a working day on Wednesday's timetable.Principal's message was ' The quality of life cannot be raised unless we raise the texture of our thoughts and the depth of our understanding'. Had class in IX A during fourth period where I completed the chapter ' Real Numbers' and began with the next chapter 'Solids' during the fifth period. Final arrangements for the conscientization programme were made; teachers were informed; students were prepared for presenting Mime too.
