Teaching Practice - Week 4 (26 - 30 November 2018)
"Children must be taught how to think, not what to think" - This thought lead me this week. Conducted Diagnostic test in Std IX A on Monday. Athira teacher helped me in invigilation. Also dealt with exercises on Length and Angles in the same class.
On Tuesday, Jisha teacher came for option (Mathematics) evaluation. During the third period, I took the portion 'Angles and Areas' innovatively. Her overall remark was very good. I took Model as innovation which attracted the students.
On Wednesday, morning assembly was conducted in the school ground. Instructions regarding the examination was given by the Headmaster. Nimmi teacher came for general evaluation this day. Began with the chapter Real Numbers. Unfortunately, my classroom management was not the best. I took discovery model that day on 'Two kinds of numbers'. Students were confused as I skipped a lesson template and started a new chapter.
On Thursday, I completed the exercise portion from 'Area and angles' in Circle measures and completed the chapter left pending. Also summarized the whole chapter at once. Found time to interact with the children too.
Strike was declared on Friday due to the death of Miss. Rakhi Krishna, first year Graduation student at Fathima Matha National College, Kollam. So school didn't function regularly.
