Teaching Practice - Phase I - Week 9

Teaching Practice - Week 9  (13-15 August 2018)

                                                 On 13 August, entered the school wishing that the day should be good. Went for achievement test in std 8H with Athira. R for invigilation. During 4th period, I conducted achievement test in my class std 9A. Presence of Jothy teacher was ensured. The class management was fine. Also got 6th period, where I could complete my last lesson template in my class. gave reinforcement to the children too.

                                                  On 14 August, I was on leave due to some health reasons. This day, sweets were distributed among the teachers by my fellow trainees. Our teaching practice (Phase I) came to an end this day. We were asked to be present on Independence day as well.

                                                   Independence day celebrations were colourfully planned by the teachers and students. Rally was planned from our school to Pallimukku junction after the flag hoisting in the school premises. But the whole plan was flopped due to the unexpected heavy rain. The  correspondent priest hoisted the flag,followed by speeches by the principal Fr. G. Roy and headmaster Sri. K. G. Alex sir. Later the Syro Malabar Arch Bishop Moran Mar Baselios  Cardinal Climmee Catholicos blessed the occasion and laid the stone for new l.p. section building.

Teaching Practice - Phase I - Week 8

Teaching Practice - Week 8 ( 6 - 10 August 2018)

                                                            The 8th week of teaching practice started on Monday 6th August. But I couldn't manage to go to the school due to some personal reasons.

                                                              It was a holiday on Tuesday due to all India Vehicle Strike. 

                                                              On Wednesday, our Physical Education instructor Sri. George Thomas gave us a visit and evaluated us. Students from std 8B was chosen for doing Yoga.

Also we had planned for the School Based Activity in 9A on Cognitive Life Skills  inaugurated by Smt Susan Varghese from HS Physics. It was a great experience. Student participation was good too.

                                                              It was again a holiday on Thursday due to heavy rain.

                                                              On Friday, regular classes were there. I got three periods in 9A. So altogether I could complete five lesson templates this week.

Started with data collection for field work based on Noon Feeding also.

Teaching Practice - Phase I - Week 7

Teaching Practice (30 July - 3 August)

                                                 The week started with much expectations towards improving my class management aspect.

                                                 On Monday (30 July), as my mentor was on leave, I had to attend std 9B (3rd period) and 9I (5th period) along with my 4th period in std 9A. I had to deal with different portions in the three classes, but was a good experience.

                                                   On Tuesday (31 July), our Subject in-charge Jisha teacher and general in-charge Nimmy teacher visited our school. I arranged 3rd period at 9A for Jisha teacher and Nimmy teacher evaluated my 6th period in the same class. My topics that day was a bit hard that day. Both the teachers commented on that.

                                                    On Wednesday (1 August), I got two periods in 9A. I conducted the Diagnostic test on the topic 'Pairs of Equations' during the 6th period. Haritha teacher helped me in classroom management during the conduct of the Diagnostic test.

                                                     On Thursday (2 August), my mentor teacher distributed the Mid Term answer sheets of the students after evaluation during the 3rd period. I got substitution in std 8A during 6th period. It was good interacting with the Std 8 students.

                                                      On Friday (3 August), I got 3rd and 6th periods in Std 9A. By this class, I completed my 34 lesson templates. During the 5th period, we had the Mathematics Club meeting. The teachers  gave instructions to the children regarding the puzzle competition and making of a Mathematics Notice Board the coming week.
