School Induction Programme - Day 4

                                                                      Today was the final day of our School Induction Progaram, and the last working day in St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Kizhakkekara in my Second Semester. The day started meeting the Headmaster and with the morning prayer. I had to take only one class in std 8A that day. I asked the children for the review about my class and their replies were satisfactory. Later as the part of writing the report about our school induction program, we had to collect some details of the school and its functioning. The Headmaster, beloved teachers and the office staffs helped us in gathering the essential information. We met our teachers again and extended our thanks for their great support. With great gratitude and satisfaction, we left our school waiting for the teaching practice days awaiting us...

School Induction Program - Day 3 (18/01/2018, Thursday)

School Induction Program - Day 3

                                                                                The day started with morning prayer. All of us visited the Headmaster. The 'Kaikottam' progamme lead by Mr. Rajan Cosmic for Std 5 students entered its final day. I had to attend 8A and 8B classes during 3rd and 6th periods respectively. One substitution period was also assigned to me. As days passed by, my tension towards handling students was found decreasing.

                                                                 The anxiety and a bit nervousness which I had flew off on the second day of our induction at the school. The preparation for taking class hopefully improved my confidence. The day started meeting the Headmaster and the Mathematics Teacher. The program 'Kaikottam' was arranged for std 5 students and their parents led by musician and master trainer Mr. Rajan Cosmic which generated interest and proved beneficial for them. It was a novel experience for us indeed.

                                              Classes were taken for Std 8B and 8A during 5th and 7th periods respectively under the guidance of Smt. Sherly teacher and Smt. Elizabeth teacher. Overall supervision and evaluation was done by Smt. Nimmy teacher. Learning activities were given to the children to gain their attention and created a condusive atmosphere to mingle. Details about the school for writing the report to be submitted was collected.Wholehearted cooperation from the side of staff members was given.

School Induction Program - Day 1 (16/01/2018, Tuesday)

                                                              As the part of our B Ed curriculum (2nd Semester), we have a weeks school induction program. 5 0f my friends and myself were assigned to do the Induction program in St. Mary's High School, Kizhakketheruvu for a week from 16th January,2018. 

                                                                     The real life experience of being a teacher was of great pleasure. We reached the school at around 9:30am and met the Headmaster K. G. Alex Sir and the subject concern Smt. Elizabeth teacher. During the third period, I had my first class in std 8 where the class was taken by Elizabeth teacher and I was the observer. The portion 'Area of Rhombus' was taken. The class was very interactive with response from the students' side.

                                                     After the class, we were given a set of answer sheets of a school level screening  test 'Science Buddies' conducted by Rashtreeya Madhyamik Abhiyan, for correction. Later I was assigned substitution for classes 8 B and 9 D where I was able to interact with the children. In the following days, waiting for extremely new experiences...
